A Cistercian monastery founded in 1619 on a hilltop in the Langhe wine country, Relais San Maurizio was the first five-star hotel to open in Piedmont. Monastery Suites
Spread across the monastery, former stables, and sacristy — recently renovated while preserving 17th-century architectural elements. Each suite has a bedroom and a separate living room with unique views. Some feature a private balcony or a private garden. Sizes range from 45 to 80 sqm.

Housed in the original monks' cells, sacristy, and historic stables of the monastery. Each room has a distinct name — Il Vecchio Lavatoio, Il Chiostro, Il Monaco, and so on — and no two are identical. Expect vaulted ceilings, antique marble fireplaces, inlaid wood floors, original frescoes, and antique furnishings inherited from the noble Incisa family. Some face the garden, others the vineyards.
Presidential Suite
The largest and most exclusive suite on the property, at 90 sqm. Combines high-tech design and contemporary art with original architectural elements from the villa. Located in Villa San Luigi at the top of the hill.

Located in Villa San Luigi, the 18th-century farmhouse at the highest point of the San Maurizio hill. Spacious suites flooded with natural light, with a large living area. The vineyard and hill views are the headline feature here.
San Luigi Grand Patio Suite
Located in Villa San Luigi, these suites come with a large living area plus a private garden and an outdoor jacuzzi. Six suites named after precious stones: Amethyst, Diamond, Pearl, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire.

During harvest season, guests may participate in the winemaking process — including grape pressing — on the estate's working vineyards.
The hotel is in the heart of white truffle country — the Langhe around Alba and Santo Stefano Belbo is among the world's most prized truffle territory. Seasonal truffle hunting excursions can be arranged through the concierge, typically October to December.
