Riad Camilia
French-Moroccan boutique: Parisian sensibility meets traditional riad architecture. Think oriental rugs, vintage furnishings, eclectic global artwork, fireplaces in winter. Feels like a private home — because it essentially is.
Book the Dar El Bacha Suite for a honeymoon or anniversary — it has a spectacular soaking tub, private courtyard, and two terraces
Why It Matters
Selected by both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. One of the few riads in Marrakech's medina with three plunge pools and a rooftop terrace reportedly over 650 sq metres — unusually generous for a 6-room property. Next door to the Medersa Ben Youssef, one of the finest surviving examples of Moorish architecture in Morocco.
A 17th-century riad in the heart of Marrakech's medina, Riad Camilia runs six rooms across two rooms and four suites — about as intimate as this format gets. The décor sits somewhere between a well-traveled Parisian apartment and a Moroccan palace: sage-green carved doors, antique rugs, eclectic lamps, and rain showers. French owners have brought genuine taste to the place, and it shows in every detail.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The team actively arranges airport transfers, private guides, day trips (Ourika Valley, Atlas Mountains, Essaouira), restaurant bookings, hammam reservations, hot air balloon rides, and more. Multiple guests specifically praise managers Quentin and Sarah for going far beyond standard concierge duties.
Golf packages can be arranged on request. The riad is reportedly adjacent to a golf course.
Led by resident chef Amina, the cooking class takes guests through traditional Moroccan dishes. Highly praised by guests — one couple raved about the lemon and olive chicken tagine as the best they'd had in all of Morocco. Quentin and Sarah (the owners) arrange these personally. Informal and cozy, typically held in the riad kitchen.
The riad's namesake Camilia personally takes guests on shopping tours around the souks when she is in residence. The souks are about 10 minutes from the riad on foot. A great way to navigate the medina markets with an insider.
Yoga and meditation sessions can be arranged on request within the riad.
