Riad Idra
Intimate luxury riad — traditional Moroccan architecture with curated contemporary interiors, quiet courtyard fountain, and small-hotel attentiveness. Think private-house retreat rather than hotel.
Book dinner in advance — the kitchen cooks fresh Moroccan meals for guests and fills up quickly
Why It Matters
Michelin Guide listed and Tablet Hotels curated; only 7 rooms total with a genuine working elevator (exceptionally rare for a Marrakech riad); included in TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice 2023.
Seven rooms. One riad. Central Marrakech medina, and yet it feels completely sealed off from the noise. Riad Idra sits in Dar el Bacha, close to the Ben Youssef Mosque, one of the king's palaces, and the antiques-dealer streets — it's a prestigious address. The real party trick here is the elevator, a genuine rarity in a city where most riads make you haul your bags up narrow staircases. Rooms blend traditional Moroccan craftsmanship with clean contemporary design, and the airport driver waiting for you on arrival means you never have to navigate the labyrinthine medina on your own.

Amenities & Practical Info
The details that matter for planning.
One of the very few riads in Marrakech with a working passenger elevator. Accesses the 1st floor (rooms BASMA, AHLAM, NOUR) and the rooftop terrace.
A comfortable lounge with Moroccan decor and a small library/reading corner. Good for downtime between medina excursions.
The central patio with fountain and greenery is the heart of the riad. All rooms open onto the walkways surrounding it. Breakfast is served here.
Accessible via elevator or stairs, the rooftop terrace has sun loungers and medina views. Used for breakfast and relaxation. Multiple guests highlight roof breakfast as a highlight.
Free WiFi throughout the entire property including all guest rooms. Generally reliable, though a small number of guests report occasional connectivity issues in specific rooms.
Continental breakfast included every morning. Served on the patio, in the dining room, or delivered to the guest room. Includes fresh orange juice, coffee or tea, fruit, yogurt, homemade pastries, and egg tagine dishes. Widely praised in reviews.
All rooms have heat and cool A/C units, discreetly installed behind carved copper plates in keeping with the Moroccan aesthetic.
No on-site parking (standard for medina riads), but public parking is available nearby without a reservation. Charges may apply.
Pets are allowed on request with no extra charge.
A small pool in the riad. Multiple guest reviews confirm it exists and is cleaned daily. Not a large swimming pool — more of a dipping pool in a traditional riad courtyard style.
Room service available around the clock.
Hot tub / jacuzzi on the spa level (ground floor).
