Riad Tarabel
Aristocratic French Colonial meets Moorish architecture. Calm, candlelit, romantic. More private house than hotel.
Book the hammam at Les Bains de Tarabel for late afternoon — ideal after a day in the souk
Why It Matters
One of very few riads to receive a 2025 Michelin Key. The spa — Les Bains de Tarabel — is accessed through a secret mirror door, takes up its own adjoining riad, and is widely considered among the best hammam experiences in the medina. The whole property can be exclusively hired for €4,820 per night.
Riad Tarabel is a 10-room adults-only riad spread across five interconnecting 19th-century houses in the Dar El Bacha district of Marrakech's medina. The interiors skip the usual Moroccan maximalism and go instead for Second Empire furnishings, Victorian roll-top bathtubs, soft Provençal colour palettes and family heirlooms sourced from the owner's château in Toulouse. Think grey zellige tiles, candelabra, bamboo and cedar furniture, old oil paintings, and souk-sourced antiques — it feels like a French colonial mansion that just happens to be in the heart of Morocco.
