RIMBA — the word means 'forest' in Indonesian — is the family-focused property within the sprawling 90-hectare AYANA estate on the clifftops of Jimbaran Bay. It sits on 8 of those hectares, all of it dense tropical greenery, and that setting does the heavy lifting: rooms look into tree canopy, pools are carved through jungle, and driftwood reclaimed from across the Indonesian archipelago lines the walls and ceilings. With 403 rooms across two wings (the original Karang wing and the newer Wana wing), this is a big resort — but a smartly organized one. Guests tap a shuttle or tram to reach all 14 pools and 30 dining venues spread across the linked AYANA properties, including the iconic cliff-top Rock Bar.
