ROKU KYOTO sits in the Takagamine foothills of northern Kyoto, on a site with 400-plus years of artistic heritage — this was where the legendary Rinpa school artist Hon'ami Koetsu established an artists' village in the 17th century. The Tenjin River flows through the grounds. It opened in 2021 as Hilton's first LXR property in all of Asia-Pacific, and no other city hotel in Kyoto gives you a natural hot-spring pool you can use year-round. The concept is 'Dive into Kyoto' — meaning deep Kyoto, the quieter north rather than the tourist-thick Higashiyama. You're 30 minutes from Kyoto Station, which is either a feature or a flaw depending on your itinerary.

TwinOnsen Garden Room
The most sought-after room category at the hotel. 67 sqm total: 50 sqm of interior space plus a 17 sqm walled private garden. The real draw is the natural hot-spring bath — drawn from the same Shozan Resort onsen source as the thermal pool — set in a semi-outdoor arrangement that feels almost fully alfresco. Stone walls, moss, and seasonal trees frame the garden. Only on the 1st floor, maximum 2 guests. Reviewers consistently cite this as the best room type to request.

PEAK Suite
The hotel's most elevated suite, commanding peak views of the Takagamine mountain range. Separate bedroom and living area, with bespoke Japanese furnishings and all Premier Floor perks. As one of only two true suites on property, availability is extremely limited. Best booked well in advance and at peak periods like cherry blossom.
KingPoolside Terrace Room
One of only four rooms in this category. 82 sqm total: a 49 sqm interior plus a 33 sqm private terrace that opens directly onto the thermal pool — step out of your room and straight into the onsen water. Located adjacent to THE ROKU SPA, making it the most convenient room for spa and fitness users. A unique private sauna experience (tent sauna on the terrace) can be booked as an add-on. Maximum 3 guests.

Same room layout as the standard Deluxe but booked under the Premier Floor category, which unlocks additional perks: premium turndown service, soap butler service, signature cocktail service upon arrival, a fitness wear set, and a spa treatment discount.
