Why It Matters
One of Berlin's oldest and most storied hotels, the 1913 Art Nouveau building was designed by August Endell and reopened after meticulous restoration in 2013. Since January 2025, Gekko Group has brought its lifestyle brand energy to the property, adding a destination French brasserie and a rooftop spa with Berlin skyline views.
A six-story Art Nouveau landmark on a quiet square in Charlottenburg, this hotel has been hosting artists, intellectuals and celebrities since 1913. Vladimir Nabokov and Brigitte Bardot have both slept here. The Gekko Group took over in January 2025, rebranding it as Roomers Berlin and installing a sharp new French brasserie by chef The Duc Ngo. The olive-green facade by architect August Endell still stops people in their tracks — look closely inside and you'll spot shells, bats, and ferns woven into every surface.
