Why It Matters
Rosewood's first and only Spanish property, reopened in 2021 after an extensive renovation. The Anglada House rooftop penthouse (260 sqm suite + 150 sqm private terrace) is one of the most spectacular hotel accommodations in Madrid. Chef Jesús Sánchez — who holds three Michelin stars at his flagship Cenador de Amós near Santander — runs Amós Restaurant here.
Rosewood Villa Magna sits on Paseo de la Castellana — Madrid's main north-south boulevard — in the heart of the Salamanca district. The original 1972 modernist building was completely gutted and reimagined by architect Ramón de Arana, who clad the facade in aged brass 'cubes' that catch the light at every hour. Inside, Australian firm Bar Studio handled interiors, filling 154 rooms and suites with white walls, bespoke furniture, and over 380 curated artworks. No pool. But the spa, four dining outlets, and a rooftop penthouse with its own California-style grill make it one of the most complete luxury hotels in Spain.
