Santa Casa
Historic Colonial Revival shell with a minimalist, earthy modern interior. Think woven textures, wooden desks, green throw blankets, and a custom mural by artist Pie Chueca. House-party energy in the common areas, quiet and residential on the block.
Request an upper-floor room if you're noise- or smoke-sensitive. Ground-floor rooms are provided with white noise machines for a reason.
Why It Matters
One of the few genuinely protected 1930s heritage buildings operating as a hotel in Roma Norte. Listed on Tablet Hotels and the Michelin Guide. Part of the growing Tasman collection of boutique properties across Mexico.
A restored 1930s Mexican Colonial Revival house on a quiet block in Roma Norte, Santa Casa was once the home of a duchess who threw legendary soirées. It still shows off the original stucco facade, Baroque spiral columns, and high arched windows that flood the terracotta-floored lobby with natural light. No restaurant, no pool, no spa — and no AC (it's a protected heritage building). But the common spaces are genuinely inviting, check-in is fully digital via a personal access code, and the surrounding neighborhood does all the heavy lifting.
