Book restaurant '1570' well in advance — it only opens Wed–Sat evenings and fills up fast, especially on weekends

Why It Matters

One of Germany's premier castle hotels, recognized by Michelin (2025), Gault&Millau, and Falstaff. The on-site gourmet restaurant '1570 – Casual Fine Dining' (formerly HILMAR, Michelin-starred) is a serious draw on its own. Unusually, two full 18-hole golf courses sit right on the property.

A 16th-century Weser Renaissance castle commissioned by Hilmar von Münchhausen in 1570, fully restored in 2004 and now operating as a 5-star superior hotel. Set in landscaped parkland in the Weser Highlands Nature Park, about 10km from Hamelin, with 67 individually furnished rooms and suites spread across the original castle and a historic Tithe Barn. The Michelin-recognized fine-dining restaurant '1570', an 800 m² spa, and two adjacent 18-hole golf courses make this a serious destination hotel rather than a novelty stay.
