First, a disclaimer: the Shoreline Hotel Waikiki is not, strictly speaking, located on the shoreline, but a few minutes’ stroll from the beach. What you get in return for that quick stroll is a hotel with an indie vibe and a relatively small scale. This is Waikiki, home of massive resorts, chain restaurants and discount clothing shops. By local standards, a hotel with 125 rooms is practically a bed-and-breakfast; intimate, stylish, and eco-conscious, the Shoreline excels at trading bloat for island beauty.

The suite also comes with two yoga mats and a 2.3 cu ft mini refrigerator. Welcome amenity basket included. Good pick if you're staying long enough to want a real living area to retreat to.

Same colorful DNA as the Queen rooms but with a king bed and a few more design flourishes — neon yellow aloha towel bars, custom native Monstera leaf print drapes from Standard Textile, and a wall art map from Moss and Lam. Private balcony with Waikiki views. Welcome amenity basket included.
KingSingle Queen Bed
The entry-level room, and no slouch. Walls done up in shades of red, yellow, and blue; aloha towel bars; and spirited patterns inspired by the local landscape. Comes with a welcome amenity basket of local snacks, custom Missana furniture, plush 300-thread-count sheets, and a private lanai with Waikiki views. Rooms are compact — this is Waikiki, not a resort suburb — but the design work makes them feel lively rather than small.
QueenTwo Double Beds
The family/group option. Two double platform beds with 300-thread-count sheets, lightning-fast WiFi, custom BluDot work desk, private balcony, and the same bold color palette as the rest of the hotel. Best pick for two adults who don't want to share a bed, or parents with a kid.
