Two pools exist and they're very different: the rooftop zen pool has jets but is more exposed to wind; the main pool at restaurant level has more open sea views and tends to be more sheltered.

Sky Villa sits high above Plettenberg Bay on Baron's View Estate, and the name earns itself — the views across the Indian Ocean, Keurbooms Lagoon, Robberg Peninsula, and the Outeniqua Mountains are genuinely stunning from every angle. The building is the other talking point: a raw concrete brutalist structure that cuts an imposing figure against the Plett skyline, softened inside by warm contemporary interiors and an art gallery that flows out into a sculpture garden filled with bronze works by local artists. Michelin Guide–listed, the hotel runs 14 air-conditioned rooms and suites in the main building plus six more at the Annex guesthouse next door, with breakfast included and a restaurant sourcing ingredients from hotel-grown herbs and the best of the Garden Route.

The upgrade that actually makes a difference. At 40 sqm with a fireplace, a deep soaking tub alongside the shower, and a private terrace facing the ocean — this is the room the hotel was built for. Guests consistently call it out as a highlight. Romantic without being over the top.

Mountain Facing Room
A solid entry-level option if you're happy to trade the ocean panorama for a quieter mountain outlook. Private terrace faces the Outeniqua Mountains. En-suite with shower (no bath), underfloor heating, and a heated towel rack. All the expected in-room kit.

The biggest room in the house at 50 sqm. Same ocean-facing layout as the Honeymoon Suite — fireplace, soaking tub, private terrace — but with more space to spread out. Top-floor position means genuinely sweeping views. Guests who've stayed here tend to mention not wanting to sleep because the vista is so good.

Sea Facing Room
The most compact room in the main hotel but arguably worth it for the address: a private terrace pointing straight at the Indian Ocean. At 25 sqm it's not a sprawling space — shower only, no bathtub. Great value if you're spending most of your time outside anyway.

The Annex Guesthouse Cottage
A self-catering cottage that sleeps two adults and up to two children under 14. One en-suite king bedroom on the ground floor, a loft with twin beds above. Open-plan living room and fully equipped kitchenette flow out onto a private north-facing patio. Wood-burning fireplace for winter. Good choice for families or longer stays. Breakfast is served at the main hotel across the road.

Six air-conditioned en-suite rooms in a separate villa about 46 metres from the main hotel reception. Access to a shared lounge, fireplace, heated pool, and boma.
