Why It Matters
SLS's debut in South America, fully designed by Piero Lissoni, with an art-forward identity and a Nikkei restaurant (Leynia) that draws locals and visitors alike. Just 58 suites means it stays genuinely intimate for a luxury property of this caliber.
SLS Puerto Madero is SLS's first South American hotel, and it arrived with a clear statement. Italian architect Piero Lissoni designed all 58 suites in this 9-floor glass tower, giving each one floor-to-ceiling windows and a private furnished balcony overlooking either downtown Buenos Aires or the historic Puerto Madero docks. The lobby sets the tone with a dramatic LED installation by local artist Eugenio Cuttica, and the art continues throughout — all pieces drawn from the Jorge M. Perez Contemporary Art Collection. On-site: Leynia, a Japanese-Argentine grill that locals book for itself, and Ciel Spa, open to the public as well as guests.
