Why It Matters
Michelin star for Wild Honey St James (held every year since 2022), an award-winning spa carved out of original bank vaulted ceilings, and a location in one of London's most prestigious postcodes. The building itself is a landmark.
A former bank — the old Cox's and King's on the corner of Waterloo Place and Pall Mall — that's now one of central London's most characterful five-star hotels. The neoclassical Grade II listed building got a full redesign by French interior specialist Pierre-Yves Rochon, trading Edwardian gravity for 1960s-London-meets-French-élan. 183 rooms, a Michelin-starred restaurant, a spa built across three floors in the original bank vaults, and a location that puts you four minutes on foot from Piccadilly Circus and 15 from Buckingham Palace.

The entry point and honestly, one of the cosiest rooms in London for the money. At 23 sqm it's compact — no point pretending otherwise — but the Pierre-Yves Rochon design makes every inch work.
