Solly Hotel Paris
Artsy guesthouse hybrid. Parquet floors, black-white-beige palette, gallery walls hung with oil paintings and lithographs, and speckled marble bathrooms. The showpiece is a period cloisonné glass canopy — an Art Nouveau jewel described as unique in France — crowning the breakfast room. Rooms are compact and chic rather than lavish.
Book the Junior Suite (25 sqm) or the Comfort with Terrace (22 sqm) if you want real breathing room — the standard Cosy rooms at 13 sqm are genuinely tight
Why It Matters
The building's history as the home of Salomon de Caus gives it genuine character, not manufactured backstory. Add the landmark Art Nouveau glass roof, a location that puts you a short walk from Le Marais, Centre Pompidou, the Louvre, and the Picasso Museum, and a breakfast supplied by the Boulangerie du Sentier — whose croissants took best-in-Greater-Paris honors — and you have a hotel that earns its four stars on personality as much as polish.
A 4-star boutique hotel occupying a 1911 Haussmann building on a tree-lined square in Paris's 3rd arrondissement. The building was once the residence of Renaissance polymath Salomon de Caus — architect, engineer, mathematician, fountain designer — and his spirit of curious creativity still runs through the place. Reopened in June 2023 after a thorough renovation by Younight Hospitality, Le Solly pitches itself somewhere between a guesthouse and a proper Parisian hotel: intimate, design-forward, and grounded in the neighborhood.
