St. Pancras London
Victorian Gothic grandeur meets contemporary luxury. The building is the star. Expect high ceilings, original fireplaces, gold leaf details, and a Grand Staircase that has appeared in multiple films. The Chambers Wing rooms feel like suites from another era; Barlow House is more polished and modern. Heritage rituals — like the daily 5:05pm Victorian Rum Punch — add genuine character.
Chambers Suite guests get the complimentary 'Suite to Seat' Eurostar escort service — a personal luggage handler walks you to the platform. Request 72 hours in advance.
Why It Matters
Originally the most extravagant railway hotel in Victorian Britain, and now one of London's most photographed buildings. It sits directly above St. Pancras International, making it the only five-star hotel in London with step-off Eurostar access. The Grand Staircase alone is worth the visit.
This is arguably the most dramatic hotel building in London. The original Midland Grand Hotel opened in 1873 as a Gothic Revival masterpiece designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott — complete with soaring vaulted ceilings, a sweeping Grand Staircase, and enough ornate red brick to fill a Victorian fever dream. It closed in 1935, sat as abandoned offices for decades, and reopened in 2011 after a heroic restoration. Now part of Marriott's Autograph Collection (transferred from Renaissance in June 2025), it splits into two distinct worlds: the atmospheric Chambers Wing in the original building, and the more modern Barlow House next door — both very different experiences under the same iconic roof.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Tuesday to Thursday at 6:11pm in the spa's silent room. Lavender breathing, five minutes of guided meditation with a Tibetan singing bowl, and chamomile tea. A quiet moment carved out of the chaos of King's Cross.
Daily at 7:35pm at The Hansom, marking the year the Midland Grand Hotel closed. Guests gather for a complimentary G&TEA — Booths Gin, Lakyrsiew tea, and cucumber — inspired by Britain's tea and gin culture. The timing is not a coincidence.
Every day at 5:05pm in the Booking Office 1869, guests craft a signature Victorian Rum Punch alongside a mixologist — a nod to the Midland Grand Hotel's opening on May 5th, 1873. Genuinely fun and surprisingly educational.
Traditional afternoon tea served daily from 1pm-5pm at The Hansom. Finger sandwiches, warm scones, handcrafted pastries, 18 loose-leaf teas, and optional Champagne. Live music on weekends. Open to non-hotel guests.
Premium cuts of meat, seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, and rich homemade gravy in the spectacular Victorian ticket hall setting. Vegetarian alternatives available. Reservations recommended.
Pre-bookable time slots for photography on the iconic Grand Staircase — available for personal or professional shoots including engagement, wedding, fashion, and editorial. A location fee applies. Even hotel guests must book in advance to avoid conflicts with hotel operations.
Scan QR codes positioned around the building to unlock hidden stories and legends of St. Pancras. Covers everything from the Victorian engineering behind the structure to the campaign to save it from demolition. Ask a member of staff for details.
Exclusive to Chambers Suite guests. A VIP escort personally walks you from your suite to the Eurostar platform (or vice versa), handling all luggage. Available 8am-7pm. Request at least 72 hours in advance. No other London hotel offers anything remotely like this.
