Stanly Ranch
Modern farmhouse meets California-cool wellness resort. Warm neutrals, oak, leather and black metal throughout. Cottages feel private and residential, not hotely. The vibe is active and social — more adventure camp for adults than stuffy wine country retreat.
The Arbor Cottages are fully standalone with no adjoining walls — worth the step-up from Acre or Rambler if privacy is a priority
Why It Matters
Founded in 1856 by Judge Edward Stanly, the ranch is a genuine piece of Napa history. Halehouse wellness center is widely regarded as the most advanced spa in the region — a serious biohacking facility with hyperbaric chambers, cold plunge, tepidarium, and a hilltop infinity pool. The Bear restaurant quickly became a top dining destination in the valley, open to the public. Property also holds a 50-piece contemporary art collection and has direct access to hundreds of miles of Bay Trail biking routes.
Stanly Ranch sits on 712 acres of southern Napa Valley ranchland, framed by 2.5 miles of Napa River and adjacent to the San Pablo Bay Estuary. The property opened in April 2022 as the third Auberge resort in Napa, and its 135 standalone cottages and suites are the boldest modern-farmhouse statement in the valley — think Scandinavian minimalism meets working ranch, designed by Overland Partners to net-zero energy standards. It leans hard into a wellness-and-adventure angle that most Napa resorts don't attempt: mountain lion tracking, falconry, hyperbaric oxygen chambers, and a spa pool with the best views on the property.

A genuinely unusual experience — tracking mountain lions through the Napa hills with a wildlife conservationist. The kind of thing you won't find at other Napa resorts.

Riding in a tandem vintage motorcycle and sidecar with a personal driver to nearby wineries including Donum Estate, Hudson Ranch, and Scribe Winery. Feels like nothing else in the valley.
Sunrise balloon flights above Napa Valley's vineyard rows, arranged by the concierge. Ends with a champagne toast on landing. One of the most memorable experiences on the itinerary.
Supervised children's programming with gardening, art, movement, and nature discovery activities. Allows parents to explore independently while younger guests are engaged in age-appropriate experiences.
