Opened in 1982 — one year after Deer Valley Resort itself — Stein Eriksen Lodge is Utah's longest-running Forbes Five-Star hotel and spa. Founded by Norwegian Olympic skiing champion Stein Eriksen, the lodge sits mid-mountain at Deer Valley with direct ski-in/ski-out access, European-inspired décor of robust wooden furnishings, massive stone fireplaces, and cool Scandinavian colors. It's the kind of place that feels serious about skiing without taking itself too seriously — oversized leather chairs, crackling fires, and a wine collection worth $2.8 million.

Deluxe Bedrooms
The entry-point room at Stein, and still genuinely comfortable. Individual layouts with rich colors and materials — no two are identical. King or two-queen configurations. All come with an oversized soaking tub. Gas fireplace, window seats, balconies/decks, and private hot tubs available in select rooms at extra cost.
Grand Suites
Seven one-of-a-kind suites in the Mountain Lodge — each with its own distinct personality and name (Flagstaff, Sultan, Sterling, Bald Eagle, Viking, among others). This is the top of the house. Best access to concierge, restaurants, ski locker room, and on-site shops. Some of the largest sleep up to fourteen. Full European kitchens, separate dining areas, and fireplaces in both the living room and master bedroom.
Luxury Bedrooms
Each one is uniquely decorated — different style, configuration, and décor. At around 700 sq ft they're genuinely spacious for a ski hotel. Sleeps two to four people comfortably. The go-to room type for couples or pairs who want space without a full suite.
Luxury Suites
Individually decorated with their own unique architecture and layout. Range from one to five bedrooms and 1,200 to 4,900 sq ft — serious space for larger groups or those wanting to spread out. Most feature a living room with fireplace, European kitchen, separate dining area, and private deck. Hot tub available in select suites.
