Why It Matters
One of only four rooms in a centuries-old Mani tower. Winner of the Special Committee Award at the 100% Hotel Design Awards 2015, listed in the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. The restaurant is guests-only and serves authentic Maniot cuisine — think siglino (salted pork), fresh daily catch, and orzo with smoked monastery cheese.
An early 19th-century stone watchtower on the southernmost tip of mainland Greece — and mainland Europe — converted into a four-room boutique retreat by architects Kostas Zouvelos and Kassiani Theodorakakou. Just a few kilometers from Cape Tainaron, where legend places the entrance to Hades' underworld, this is about as far off the tourist grid as you can get on the Greek mainland. But the infinity hydrotherapy pool, Michelin-listed restaurant, and Coco-mat beds mean the remoteness comes with genuine comfort.

The smallest room at 14 sqm, located in the adjoining tower house next to the main tower. Compact but thoughtfully furnished, with mountain views and maximum privacy. Good option for solo travelers or couples who don't need the extra space.

An 18 sqm room at the base of the tower with a double bed, private bathroom, and a patio opening directly onto the courtyard and infinity pool. Sea views included. The most accessible room in the building — no ladders or unusual staircases involved.

A 22 sqm suite on two levels looking out at the Taygetos mountain range. Features one double bed and a sofa bed, with a patio door connecting to the courtyard. Often booked alongside the Executive Double by families who open the connecting door between the two rooms.

The top of the tower. A 25 sqm suite spread across two levels with the original stone walls and woodwork still very much in evidence. Wooden balcony jutting from the stone facade, sea views you'll remember for a while, and a loft-style layout accessed by ladder. The most theatrical room in the building.

Marmari Beach is 1.2 miles from the hotel. The broader area offers both sandy and pebble beach coves reachable by short drives.

The area around the hotel and Cape Tainaron is popular for hiking through the rugged Mani landscape. The owner Kostas is known for providing local route suggestions to guests.
The tower's wooden veranda and upper terrace are prime spots for watching the sun set over the sea. Drinks served on request.
