Why It Matters
One of the few hotels in Bilbao's historic old town with a genuinely Michelin-starred restaurant on-site. The building itself has architectural significance as an early concrete structure in Spain. Right on the estuary, steps from the Arriaga Theatre and Erribera Market.
A 1924 building in Bilbao's Casco Viejo that earned the distinction of being the fourth concrete-structure building in Spain. The hotel opened in 2019 after a renovation that kept the bones intact — concrete beams, exposed brick, wooden staircases, stained glass — and added contemporary interventions in steel and glass. The result is industrial-lux done with real conviction. The big draw beyond the rooms is Ola Martín Berasategui, a 1-Michelin-star restaurant on the first floor run by the legendary Basque chef and his disciple Raúl Cabrera.

Lives up in the attic with sloping ceilings and velux skylights for natural light — so the feel is quite different from the rest of the hotel. Separate bedroom and living room, each with its own TV. The sofa bed in the lounge is queen-size (1.6m), and the room has a balcony overlooking Merced Street. Accommodates up to 3 adults or 2 adults plus 2 children, making it the most practical option for families.

The most popular category. Estuary views, king-size bed, spacious and bright. Just one square metre more than the Street View, but the aspect makes a noticeable difference — especially at dusk when the waterfront lights up. Worth the upgrade.

Compact single room that punches above its size with a private balcony looking out over the Bilbao estuary. Same 13 sqm footprint as the Xtra Small, but that balcony changes the feel entirely. Good for a solo traveller who wants the river view without paying suite prices.

Faces Casco Viejo's streets rather than the estuary. Most floors have a balcony — the first and top floors do not. Wake up to the Old Town, open the balcony doors, and watch Bilbao start its day. 22 sqm is comfortable without being lavish.

The flagship room, and the largest at 48 sqm. Sits under the tower of the building on the top floor — a genuinely singular space. King-size bed, a lounge area, and a ceramic bathtub. Positioned differently from every other room in the hotel. The place to stay if you are celebrating something.
