Tenuta Il Cicalino is a working Maremma estate with roots in the 1800s and five generations of the Vecchioni family behind it. Six restored 19th-century stone farmhouses are spread across the hills 4 km outside Massa Marittima, housing 24 self-catering apartments and 7 hotel-style rooms. The estate still produces its own extra-virgin olive oil and red wine — both of which end up on your table at dinner.

Six self-catering apartments in the Cicalino farmhouse — the central podere, directly adjacent to one of the outdoor pools, the fitness center, saunas, and whirlpool rooms. Apartments 1–5 are 40–45 sqm for two; Cicalino 6 stretches to 60 sqm and sleeps five with a double, twin and single. All have kitchenettes, AC, TV, safe, and private bathroom.

Lame Apartments (Lame Podere)
Three apartments in the Lame farmhouse. Lame 1 and Lame 2 are 60 sqm on the first floor with two bedrooms each. Lame D is an 85 sqm two-level unit sleeping 6–8 people across two double bedrooms with additional sleeping areas. All have kitchenette, TV, and private bathroom — Lame 1 and 2 with bathtub rather than shower.

The estate's dedicated bike program offers guided mountain bike tours with certified instructors, in partnership with BikeXperience and local guide Francesco Guidi. Routes range from scenic leisure trails to technical single tracks in the Capanne area. Advance booking recommended in peak season.
In addition to MTB trails, the estate facilitates gravel and road cycling through the Maremma landscape with guided options and mapped routes.
The estate rents modern MTBs and e-bikes of the latest generation. Each podere features an alarmed, equipped bike room. A washing station, equipped workshop with tools, compressor, pumps, and basic spare parts are all on site. Sportswear laundry for bike gear is available.
Hands-on classes in Maremma and Tuscan cuisine, teaching traditional recipes and techniques using estate-grown and locally sourced ingredients.
Guided visit to Tenuta Le Piane in Massa Marittima — a sister property — through its ecosystem of pastures, woods, and animals.
Tastings of the estate's own extra-virgin olive oil (Parco dei Lecci Toscano IGP Bio) and red wine — both produced on the property. Can be paired with the restaurant experience.
The estate maintains its own private trekking trails through the surrounding woodland, olive groves, and hills — accessible directly from the poderi without leaving the property. Three jogging/running loops are also marked out.
