Why It Matters
Part of SLH's Wellbeing Collection and one of very few hotels on car-free, development-restricted Formentera. The art collection is legitimately impressive — largely female-led, curated by an art historian — and the wellbeing programming goes well beyond massages into sound therapy, neuro-sonic meditation, ice baths, and artist residencies. The rooftop has become one of the island's most sought-after dinner spots.
Teranka sits on a protected coastal estate on Formentera's south shore, steps from the bone-white sands of Playa Migjorn. The name comes from the French terre d'ancrage — a place of safe anchor — and it fits. Thirty-five rooms and suites spread across three buildings (Mar, Tierra, Cielo), each anchored to a different element: sea, land, sky.
