Why It Matters
The first new hotel in Asbury Park in 50 years, designed by Anda Andrei (11 Howard, NYC), it reinvigorated the city's hospitality scene and is inseparable from Asbury Park's creative, LGBTQ-inclusive culture. Nominated for the 2026 Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards.
The Asbury is a 110-room boutique hotel in a restored 1950s Salvation Army building one block from the famous Asbury Park boardwalk. The rock 'n' roll DNA runs deep here — think Scandinavian-minimal rooms offset by a lobby that doubles as a bar, vinyl library, and pool hall, plus a rooftop bar with ocean views and a sister bowling alley next door. Designed by Anda Andrei (of SoHo's 11 Howard), it was the first new hotel to open in Asbury Park in 50 years when it debuted, and it still feels like the social heartbeat of the town. Fair warning: rooms are small and the hotel gets loud — that's the whole point.

281–307 sq ft with north-facing views of Convention Hall and Bradley Park. Has a proper seating nook and a desk — the only standard room that makes sense if you need to get work done. Bold patterned rugs and black-and-white photos of musical greats round out the look.

Double Double Room
264–283 sq ft with two double beds — the only room configured for side-by-side sleeping without bunks. Two lounge chairs and a desk make it practical for families or two friends who want their own beds.
2 Double BedsOcean View King
At exactly 297 sq ft in a quiet corner of the building, this is the room guests keep coming back for. Views stretch from the city all the way to the Atlantic. Popular enough that it books out early on summer weekends.
1 King BedOcto Room
595 sq ft of apartment-style space with eight bunk beds, two full bathrooms, and lockable lockers. A grown-up sleepover for eight. At $595 sq ft divided by 8, the per-person value is hard to beat on the Jersey Shore.
8 Bunk BedsPanoramic Suite
264–283 sq ft with all-around views of Asbury Park and the Atlantic Ocean. The name delivers — you wake up to a sea of blue. Sleeps 3, has generous seating, and is the social-media darling of the room lineup.

Park Suite
At 580 sq ft, this is the biggest room in the house. A sunlit living area with a daybed and lounge chair gives genuine breathing room. Good for small families or anyone who actually wants space to decompress.

265 sq ft with four leveled-up bunk beds for groups of four. Old-school sleepover energy, but the mattresses are legitimately comfortable. A smart, budget-friendly option for tight-knit groups.
4 Bunk BedsStandard King
Runs 193–239 sq ft with park views. The king bed makes a difference, and the décor carries the same Asbury music-history nods. Light-filled and clean — still compact, but the upgrade from the Queen is worthwhile for couples.
1 King BedStandard Queen
The entry-level room and the smallest footprint in the house, ranging 188–243 sq ft. Flying solo or working remotely, this does the job with punchy Scandinavian décor, black-and-white music photography, a rainfall shower, and a flat-screen TV. Don't come expecting to spread out.
1 Queen BedStudio Suite
274–278 sq ft with a proper lounge area and a convertible futon — smartly sized for two people who want a bit of separation between sleeping and chilling. Good pick between boardwalk sessions.
1 King BedSuperior King
An upsized version of the Standard King at 247–286 sq ft — still not sprawling, but noticeably more comfortable. Park views and all the same design details. The right step up without going full suite.

The hotel's neon-clad adjacent sister property — a vintage bowling alley, legendary concert venue, retro diner, and bar all rolled into one. Open Tuesday–Sunday. Hosts major touring acts and local legends. Guests can borrow a colorful pair of bowling shoes and go to town.
Complimentary bicycle rentals for hotel guests (included in the $40.12/night destination fee). Must be reserved at the front desk; first come, first served. Good for the boardwalk or local exploring.
Open year-round, 8am–10pm daily. Lined with chaises, cabanas (fee applies), and colorful cushions. Day passes and cabana reservations available via ResortPass. Poolside bar and seasonal food truck (weekends, Memorial Day through Labor Day). 21+ policy applies to the pool bar area.
Nearly nightly programming in the lobby bar — rotating roster of bands, singer-songwriters, open mics, drag queen karaoke, and jazz. Live entertainment Thursday–Sunday from 7–10pm. Free to attend as a hotel guest or walk-in.
An alfresco rooftop movie theater showing throwback crowd favorites (think Mamma Mia, Dr. Strangelove) Thursday through Sunday evenings during summer. Like a drive-in without the cars — bring a blanket, grab some popcorn and a beer.
Ground-floor lounge kitted out with ping-pong tables, pinball machines, board games, and a communal table. Good for slow mornings or pre-dinner hangs.
Seasonal programming includes themed pool parties, DJ sets, and special events (Pride Pool Party, Memorial Day Weekend Party, etc.). Check the events calendar before booking.
Curated vinyl record wall in Soundbooth — flip through the collection between sets or over cocktails. Part of the hotel's deeper commitment to Asbury Park's music heritage.
