The Boxer Boston
Industrial-chic boutique. Think cable-knit throw pillows, tufted steel-gray headboards, and plaid bedding mixed with open-framed steel wardrobes. The bones are New England industrial; the execution is unpretentious and a bit playful.
Ask for a room at the pointy end of the building for the most unusual triangular layout
Why It Matters
One of the very few hotels in Boston occupying a true flatiron building — a nine-story triangular brick structure built in 1904. The odd geometry means every room has a unique layout, and rooms at the pointy end are genuinely one-of-a-kind. Conde Nast Traveler Reader's Choice Top Hotel winner in both 2017 and 2018.
The Boxer sits inside Boston's 1904 Flatiron Building — a red-brick, triangular wedge that juts into the Bulfinch Triangle neighborhood. Originally the Bulfinch Hotel, it relaunched as The Boxer after a full renovation in 2013. Acquired by Spain's Eurostars Hotels in September 2025, the 80-room property is now rebranded 'Eurostars The Boxer' but keeps its industrial-chic bones: antique maps on ceilings, riveted-steel wardrobes, gaslamp-inspired lighting, and Calacatta marble bathroom countertops. It's a genuinely character-filled stay — the triangular building means no two rooms are the same layout, and a handful sit in the pointy end of the flatiron itself.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A full fitness center open around the clock. Includes Peloton bikes. Small but adequately equipped for a city boutique hotel.
The hotel offers 'Boxer bicycles' for guests to borrow and explore the neighborhood. The Charles River Esplanade is close, as is the Freedom Trail — both are excellent on two wheels.
The Freedom Trail starts just 0.3km from the front door. The hotel's location in the Bulfinch Triangle — itself on the National Register of Historic Places — puts guests squarely in one of Boston's most historically loaded neighborhoods.
