The Brant
Agrarian-modern boutique. Coastal without being nautical-themed. Think exposed oak beams, brass accents, navy-and-neutral palette, and Further bath products — design-forward but relaxed.
Reception is only staffed 8am–8pm; arrivals after 8pm get keys left in a sealed envelope on the main door
Why It Matters
One of the very few Michelin Key recipients on Nantucket. Under Salt Hotels, it ditched the typical whaling-captain aesthetic in favor of something more agriculturally grounded — and it works. The complimentary breakfast, bikes, and beach kit make it genuinely good value for the island.
Three cedar-shingled, 17th-century-style barn structures in Nantucket's Brant Point neighborhood — quiet enough to feel residential, close enough to town that you can walk everywhere. Salt Hotels took what was a classic New England inn format and gave it an agrarian-modern rework: bleached oak floors, exposed beams, a warm neutral palette, and none of the whaling-captain kitsch that dominates most island hotels. With 26 rooms, a pool, an indoor/outdoor barn bar, and a lawn full of firepits and Adirondack chairs, it earns its Michelin Key without trying too hard.
