Why It Matters
Selected by both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. Features the work of Wanaka creative agency Undercurrent and local artist Deborah Moss. One of two Naumi-branded boutique properties in Queenstown. Qualmark Sustainable Tourism Business Award participant.
Singapore-based Naumi Hotels tapped Wanaka creative agency Undercurrent to bring their maximalist design sensibility to the South Island, and the result is something genuinely distinct. Saturated jewel tones, wall-to-wall eclectic art, and specially commissioned wallpaper by local artist Deborah Moss fill every 16 rooms — it reads almost Parisian in its colour intensity, but the surrounding scenery keeps it firmly rooted in alpine New Zealand. There's no in-house restaurant, but the lounge runs a free-flow happy hour nightly from 5–6pm, the bar leans into NZ wines, and staff are loaded with neighbourhood recommendations.

One-hour private hot pool session at Bathe by Aluume, a 10-minute walk from the hotel. Magnesium-enriched water, monsoon shower, and views. Available as part of the Alpine Hot Pool package (from NZD 450/night). Sessions run 8:45am–2:30pm daily, advance reservation required.
Rent the hotel's BBQ pit for NZD 30. Gas, utensils, and condiments provided. Food from nearby supermarkets. Great for a casual self-catered dinner in the garden.
The hotel offers bicycle hire for guests. Reviews note that the bikes can need servicing — request a pre-ride check when booking to avoid gear issues on the trail.
Complimentary unlimited drinks in The Lounge every evening 5–6pm, with charcuterie and nibbles. A genuinely useful perk — especially after a day on the slopes or trails.
The hotel team is genuinely well-stocked with local recommendations — restaurants, activities, hikes, adventure sports. Staff can point guests to bungy jumping, jet boating, ski fields, and scenic hikes. The hotel also provides a curated digital Queenstown Explorer guide.
Secure on-site ski and snowboard storage for NZD 10 per room, available during the winter ski season. Keeps gear out of the room without the hassle of locker rentals in town.
