Built in 1914 as Memphis's Grand Central Station and converted into a Curio Collection by Hilton property in 2019, this eight-floor landmark in the South Main Arts District wears its train-station DNA proudly: the original arrival/departure marquee is still up, neon track signs line the halls, and the Grand Hall's 33-foot ceilings now host weddings beneath custom chandeliers. The most dramatic room in the hotel. At 930 sq ft with soaring 15-foot ceilings and a wrought-iron spiral staircase leading from the industrial-furnished living room up to the bedroom loft, it feels more like a South Main artist's studio than a hotel room. Views of street art under the bridge and the rail tracks from the bedroom.

The Main Line Suite

The Amtrak City of New Orleans train stops at Central Station daily on its route between Chicago and New Orleans — you can literally catch a train from the hotel. The MATA Main Street trolley also stops here.
A purpose-built acoustically engineered listening room hidden behind the Eight & Sand bar. Features EgglestonWorks speakers and original hotel-produced podcasts on specific Memphis music genres, each narrated by an artist from that genre. Access through the bar.
Every room has a custom-designed EgglestonWorks speaker and a handcrafted desk knob to tune into the hotel's daily DJ-curated Memphis playlist. Memphis-based audio designer Jim Thompson created the speaker system.
The hotel curated a museum-quality art collection throughout the property. Highlights include a life-size hand-beaded portrait of Isaac Hayes (inspired by his 1971 'Black Moses' album cover) by Mardi Gras Indian artist Demond Melancon in the lobby, and crayon folk-art drawings on 1970s payroll paper by blues musician Henry Speller along the guest elevator corridor.
The hotel's in-house DJ spins Memphis-connected records most nights from the 'Elmertha' booth — a DJ stand built from an old church organ. The playlist is broadcast through the bar, lobby, and via the in-room EgglestonWorks speakers.
