Why It Matters
The only all-suite hotel in Mayfair with a full 25-metre indoor pool. Occupies the Grade II-listed former U.S. Embassy — complete with Theodore Roszak's original golden eagle sculpture (cast from B-52 bomber aluminium) on the roof. The dining programme is extraordinary: Carbone's first European outpost, the London debut of two-Michelin-starred chef Masayoshi Takayama, and a tearoom by world-renowned pâtissier Marius Dufay. Also home to The Taktouk Clinic — Rosewood's first in-hotel medical aesthetics clinic.
The Chancery Rosewood is the conversion of the former U.S. Embassy on Grosvenor Square into one of London's most architecturally significant hotel openings in a decade. Eero Saarinen designed the original building in 1960; David Chipperfield restored it; Joseph Dirand did the interiors. The result is 144 all-suites — the smallest starting at 570 sq ft — anchored by eight restaurants and bars, Europe's first Carbone, and a genuine 25-metre indoor pool in the heart of Mayfair. Mayfair Junior Suite
Entry-level accommodation and the most numerous room type in the hotel. Feels more like a Mayfair apartment than a hotel room. Three fresh flower arrangements on arrival, plush carpeting, abundant natural light through oversized bow windows. Bathrooms have heated floors, deep soaking tubs, generous walk-in showers, double vanities, and TOTO bidet toilets. Every suite includes its own martini station and a curated complimentary minibar with healthy and gluten-free snacks.
