Two mid-century motels, thoroughly gutted and reimagined into one of South Lake Tahoe's best-positioned stays. The Coachman pulls off the boutique-chic-meets-camp-rustic thing without trying too hard — custom hand-crafted furniture, Lather bath products, Italian Bellino linens, and Apple TV in every room. The property straddles Pine Boulevard, so some sections are across the street from each other, but the payoff is a five-minute walk to Heavenly Village and the gondola, and five minutes in the other direction to Lakeside Beach.
