Why It Matters
One of the UK's only hotels with a three-Michelin-starred restaurant on-site (Alain Ducasse). Opened in 1931 as the world's first hotel built from reinforced concrete. The Oliver Messel suites, Elizabeth Taylor Harlequin Suite, and Eisenhower Suite are pieces of living hotel history. Voted London's best hotel in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards after its recent refurbishment. And afternoon tea at The Promenade has been a London institution since the day the hotel opened.
The Dorchester opened in 1931 and has never really stopped being the address in London. Sitting directly on Park Lane opposite Hyde Park, this is 238 rooms and suites of serious, old-money luxury — the kind with three Michelin stars downstairs, marble bathrooms with the deepest baths in London, and handmade Vispring beds dressed in bespoke linen. The whole property has just come through its biggest renovation in three decades, with interior designer Pierre-Yves Rochon reworking rooms in English garden palettes: pale leaf green, rose fog pink, heather blue. But the bones — 1930s Art Deco architecture, Oliver Messel interiors in the signature suites, that Park Lane grandeur — are very much intact.

Dorchester Studio
Perfectly proportioned for any type of stay — work, relaxation, or both. A stylish, self-contained haven in the heart of the hotel, designed with residential ease. Good for extended business stays or solo travellers who want more living space than a standard room.
Dorchester Suite
The hotel's flagship residential suite — abundantly spacious, light-filled, with separate living and dining areas and views that never disappoint. Connecting options allow for a five-bedroom configuration. The Stay & Indulge rate includes a complimentary speed nap experience in the spa's Relaxation Room. Complimentary round-trip airport transfer included.
Elizabeth Taylor Harlequin Suite
Elizabeth Taylor's personal suite, complete with a pink marble bathroom she requested herself in the 1950s. She reportedly received the call about her record-breaking Cleopatra contract from that bath. Design details include a portrait of her as Cleopatra and books showcasing her favourite jewellery. Rooftop location with private terrace and city views.
Garden Terrace Suite
One of the grandest configurations in the hotel — featuring separate living and dining areas and the ability to accommodate up to five bedrooms. A bold, joyful personality radiates throughout, with private terrace access for skyline views.
Hyde Park Suite
The tier at which dedicated butler service kicks in. Spacious, light-filled, and magnificently proportioned suites with views directly over Hyde Park. Connecting options allow it to expand to two bedrooms. Head-painted de Gournay headboards in select suites.
Mayfair Suite
Corner-positioned suites proudly overlooking their historic namesake neighbourhood. Separate living and dining areas, a guest bathroom, and the option to connect into a five-bedroom suite configuration. Among the most beloved rooms in the hotel.
Oliver Messel Suite
Designed by British stage designer Oliver Messel and protected by the hotel since 1953. These suites retain their original lavish interiors — all flamboyant colour, gilt, and theatrical glamour. A piece of hotel history that no renovation has dared to touch. With private terrace offering city skyline views.
Superior Junior Suite
Separate living area, generous proportions and that signature colour palette — calm, light-filled, and far more spacious than the name 'junior' suggests. One of three junior suite tiers, this is the entry point into proper suite living at The Dorchester.
Superior Room
The entry point at The Dorchester and still a serious room. Freshly renovated in Pierre-Yves Rochon's English garden palette — think pastel sensibilities with a distinctly London attitude.
