The Duke Club
Grand English country manor meets Dutch corporate luxury. Dark wood, fireplaces, and golf course views — serious comfort without pretension.
Book the spa for a private 2-hour session — it can be reserved exclusively for just you and your party.
Why It Matters
One of the most exclusive private golf and hospitality estates in the Netherlands. The 18-hole championship course (rated among the country's finest) was redesigned by Dutch course designer Alan Rijks in 2015 and normally only accessible to corporate members — but suite guests get full access. Add a butler, a Gault & Millau-lauded kitchen brigade, and 70 m²+ suites with custom Auping box springs, and you have a property that punches well above most five-star hotels.
Set on the old hunting grounds of the Dukes of Brabant in the North Brabant countryside, The Duke Club is an exclusive members-only business and golf club owned by the Van Eerd family — the same family behind Jumbo Supermarkets. The lodging side, The Duke Suites, occupies a stately villa designed to evoke a centuries-old English country manor. All 18 suites run over 70 m², every guest gets a dedicated 24/7 butler, and the fine dining restaurant The Charles has earned a Gault & Millau score of 14.5/20. It is not a hotel you just walk into — access to the golf course is members-only, and suite bookings are handled by request.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
One of the finest private golf courses in the Netherlands. Designed by Alan Rijks (2015 redesign of the original De Hooge Vorssel course). Par 72 across 5,782 metres from the back tees. Combines tree-lined fairways through old woodland with a more open, links-style nine to the west. Signature hole: the par-3 7th, with its island green inspired by TPC Sawgrass hole 17. Normally strictly members-only — suite guests get access via the golf package (valid golf handicap/license required).
A dedicated conference and ballroom in the Duke Suites villa, plus smaller meeting rooms in the clubhouse. Fully customizable packages combining suites, culinary arrangements, and golf. Dedicated event team on site.
Heeswijk Castle, one of the oldest and best-preserved moated castles in the Netherlands, is a short drive away and open to visitors. Maurick Castle is another nearby option, both with outdoor terraces.
The hotel lends bikes to guests. De Maashorst primeval nature reserve is directly accessible from the estate — 3,500 hectares of forests, heathland, dunes, and wetlands. Bison and Exmoor ponies roam in a large fenced area of the park.
On-site gym with Technogym cardio and strength equipment. Open to hotel guests at any hour of the day.
The Royal Duke is a dedicated event venue on the estate for product launches, Christmas dinners, weddings, and corporate events. The kitchen brigade handles bespoke culinary proposals. A dedicated wedding coordinator manages every detail.
