Hari Hong Kong
Polished designer boutique with a relaxed, residential feel. Think rich textures, moody jewel tones, and rooms that feel curated rather than generic. There's a social energy around the dining venues, but the hotel itself is calm. Art is woven throughout: the hotel runs its own annual Hari Art Prize and connects guests with curated art tours of the Hong Kong scene.

Why It Matters
One of Hong Kong Island's newer design hotels, opened 2020. Conceived by the storied Harilela family and designed by Tara Bernerd & Partners. Three rooftop suites with private terraces overlooking Victoria Harbour and The Peak are among the best suite options at this price point on the island. The four dining venues — including Lucciola (Italian) and Zoku (Japanese) — draw non-hotel guests too.
The Hari Hong Kong is a 30-story, 210-room five-star hotel that opened in December 2020, sitting right on the border of Wan Chai and Causeway Bay. Designed by London-based Tara Bernerd & Partners, it's all timber panelling, Arabescato marble, antique brass Crittall doors, and plush velvet in jewel tones. The hotel is a project of the Harilela family — a name synonymous with Hong Kong hospitality for generations — and it shows in the attention to detail and personalised service ethos.
