Built in 1923 as a Dutch colonial telecommunications office, The Hermitage is Jakarta's most storied boutique hotel. The original Art Deco bones are fully intact — soaring ceilings, Peranakan artwork, Carrara marble floors, and an iconic mezzanine staircase that makes a strong first impression. It sits in Menteng, one of the city's most prestigious and genuinely calm neighborhoods, just a 2-minute walk from the Jalan Surabaya antique flea market. Ninety rooms and suites range from 40 to 70 sqm, and the hotel holds the distinction of being Indonesia's first Tribute Portfolio property, launched in 2015.
