Book a Waitematā View room if harbour views matter to you — the harbour-facing built-in sofa is the ideal perch

Why It Matters

Certified 5 Green Star by the NZ Green Building Council — the first and only hotel in New Zealand to achieve this. Over 90% of construction waste was reused or recycled, the building produces 50% fewer greenhouse-gas emissions than the NZ minimum standard, and organic cotton sheets and certified organic staff uniforms are the norm. It also holds a 2025 Michelin Key, TripAdvisor Best of the Best 2025, and was listed on the 2021 Condé Nast Traveler Hot List.

New Zealand's first — and only — 5 Green Star hotel, The Hotel Britomart is a 99-room boutique property designed by Cheshire Architects in the heart of the Britomart precinct. Hand-made brick exterior, timber-lined rooms, artisan ceramics and organic cotton sheets make sustainability feel genuinely tactile rather than performative. It sits at the centre of a nine-block neighbourhood packed with excellent restaurants, bars, and boutiques, with the Waitematā Harbour ferry terminal a three-minute walk away.
