The Hotel Chalet sits on the grounds of the historic 1909 Terminal Station — a stately Beaux Arts building that barely escaped demolition in the 1970s and spent decades as a Hilton. The latest renovation has restored its original grandeur: sunshine pours through dome-like skylights, classic cocktails are poured through the window of a refurbished caboose, and antique lamps light interiors that feel genuinely old-world. Of the 127 guest rooms, 25 are housed in restored Pullman train carriages from the 1920s–1960s — some Victorian with original Tiffany Glass pendants, others midcentury modern with scalloped king beds.

Chalet Double Queen
Same 350 sq ft footprint as the Chalet King but configured for up to four guests with two queen beds. Good for families or friend groups who want to keep it comfortable without paying suite prices. Optional patio available for a fee.
Two QueensChalet King
The standard guestroom, and a solid one at 350 sq ft. Gracious and comfortable for two, with room to work, lounge, and sleep well. Waterworks bathroom fixtures and Italian Bellino linens make the difference vs. a typical hotel room. Optional outdoor patio available for an additional fee.
KingChalet Suite
A 700 sq ft suite with views of the Choo Choo campus and the Appalachian mountain ridgeline. Wet bar, separate living space, en suite bath, and a powder room. Separate sleeper sofa means it can sleep 2–4 without cramping the bedroom. The natural light is notably good.
MacArthur Suite
The flagship suite. Occupies an entire Pullman Passenger Train Carriage — 700 sq ft inside plus a private poolside terrace that adds another 700 sq ft. Named for the last steam-powered freight train to arrive at the station. Separate living/dining area, en suite bath, powder room, and a wet bar. Can sleep 2–4 but comfortably entertains groups of up to 15. This is the one to book for a big occasion.
Sleeper Deluxe
Step aboard via your own private entrance into a magnificently restored Pullman train carriage. The room sleeps 2–4 and comes with a pull-out trundle sofa — compact at 300 sq ft but full of character. Radiant heated bathroom floors are a nice touch. Some carriage rooms are Victorian (original Tiffany Glass pendants, bentwood dining chairs) and others are midcentury modern (custom wall coverings, scalloped king beds).

The historic 1909 Terminal Station campus is open to the public and free to explore. Restored train cars, public gardens, outdoor art installations, and live music on Station Street are all on the doorstep. Guests have direct access.
The hotel concierge can arrange a curated hang gliding experience over the scenic Appalachian foothills — one of Chattanooga's more dramatic outdoor options.
