Why It Matters

One of the first Hoxton properties outside the UK, and one of very few hotels in Paris where you're actually staying inside a preserved 18th-century mansion with original architectural details intact. The building has real bones — not just period-style decor.

An 18th-century hôtel particulier in Paris' 2nd arrondissement — once the actual home of Etienne Rivié, counsellor to Louis XIV — that The Hoxton has turned into a 172-room boutique hotel. The building's original spiral staircases, carved cornicing, and twin inner courtyards are all still there. Rooms lean into the architecture with chevron parquet floors, bold feature walls, and mid-century touches that nod to Jean Prouvé and Mathieu Matégo.
