The LaSalle Chicago
Club-like boutique luxury with an Art Deco sensibility — polished without being stuffy, and genuinely rooted in its historic building
Check in is on the 21st floor, not the street level — head straight to the elevator when you arrive
Why It Matters
Occupies the last and largest Daniel Burnham building (1914) in Chicago, a genuine architectural landmark. The 32-foot Ceres statue presides over the street below, and the historic Rookery building — one of Burnham's first — sits directly across the street. Recognized as a 2025 Forbes Travel Guide Recommended Hotel.
The LaSalle Chicago opened in June 2022 inside the last — and largest — building designed by celebrated Chicago architect Daniel Burnham in 1914, a landmark Loop tower that once housed the city's two biggest banks. The hotel leans hard into its financial-district bones: club-like interiors, Calacatta marble everywhere, museum-quality art, and a sophisticated retro-modern aesthetic that feels earned rather than costumed. At 232 rooms with an average size of 430 square feet and Frette linen on every bed, it punches above its room count.
