Why It Matters

Named a Condé Nast Traveller UK top 30 hotel in London by readers. Winner of Outstanding New Hotel at the Independent Hotel Awards. Praised by the New York Times for 'fine style, comfort and friendly staff.' One of the very few quality boutique hotels in Notting Hill, and one with a genuine sense of place — every design choice ties back to the neighbourhood's art and carnival heritage.

Five Grade II listed Victorian townhouses on a quiet Notting Hill side street, joined into one 51-room boutique hotel. The name honours Rhaune Laslett, the community activist who organised what eventually became the Notting Hill Carnival — and that sense of local pride runs through everything here. Waldo Works designed the interiors, Biba founder Barbara Hulanicki contributed artwork, and antique pieces sourced from Jerome Dodd's Golborne Road shop dot the rooms and corridors. The ground floor is genuinely open to locals: a curated British library, a coffee shop, the Henderson Bar & Kitchen, and a rotating gallery and concept store that makes it feel more like a neighbourhood spot than a hotel lobby.
