Why It Matters
Ian Schrager's fingerprints are all over this one: the first collaboration between Schrager and Marriott in Europe, with interiors by Torontonian hospitality design firm Yabu Pushelberg. Berners Tavern is a genuine destination restaurant — that room alone justifies a booking. And the Punch Room is one of London's most awarded cocktail bars.
The London EDITION is a row of restored Georgian townhouses on Berners Street in Fitzrovia — once home to the historic Berners Hotel, a gathering place for creatives and intellectuals. Ian Schrager and Marriott teamed up on this one, and the interiors are by Yabu Pushelberg: think yacht-cabin warmth, dark walnut panelling, and serious restraint. It opened in 2013 with 173 rooms, three bars, Berners Tavern by Jason Atherton, and no spa or pool — and has stayed precisely itself ever since.

Also called the London EDITION Loft Suite. Named after the street the hotel sits on. Expansive windows flood the room with natural light — a real contrast to the darker standard rooms. Contemporary elegance, George Smith sofa, separate living area. Available as a two-bedroom connecting configuration.

Deluxe King
Deluxe category king room with the nautical-inspired walnut interior. A bit more breathing room than the Superior tier. Fine linens, faux-fur throws, oversized bathtub or rainforest shower depending on aspect.
KingDeluxe Queen
A step up from Superior, with a bit more natural light and space. Same Yabu Pushelberg-designed interiors: walnut panelling, George Smith tufted chair, Hendrik Kerstens photography. Sleek all-white bathroom with walk-in shower.
QueenFitzrovia Suite
Named after the neighbourhood. Airy suite with George Smith sofa, separate living area, and abundant natural light. Eligible for the Suite Dreams package (from £1,240 with airport transfer, £100 F&B credit, gin trolley and breakfast for two).
KingLoft King
Open-plan loft with multiple windows for better natural light. King bed, separate seating area. The loft format makes these feel far more spacious than the standard rooms — worth the upgrade if you're staying more than a couple of nights.
KingLoft Room Double
Open-plan layout with a higher ceiling and multiple windows — a noticeably more airy feel than the standard rooms. Good option for two travellers who don't want to upgrade all the way to a suite. Separate seating area included.
Double/DoubleNewman Suite
Entry-level suite with a separate living area featuring a George Smith sofa and Hendrik Kerstens photography. Airy layout, evening turndown service, fresh flowers, oversized soaking tub and Le Labo toiletries.

Penthouse
The hotel's showpiece. 195 sqm spread across a spectacular rooftop position with a wrap-around landscaped terrace offering 360-degree views of London. Full kitchen (can accommodate a private chef), separate dining area, library and three outdoor terraces. The Suite Dreams package adds a two-way Range Rover transfer from Heathrow, personalised airport meet-and-greet, £200 F&B credit, Hendrick's gin trolley, minibar access, breakfast for two and 4pm checkout.

Top tier room category — loft layout with extra space and premium positioning in the building. Available in the 'Twice as Nice in the City' offer. Open-plan feel with more natural light than the compact standard rooms.
KingPremier Terrace
One of only 4 Premier Terrace rooms in the hotel. Private outdoor terrace overlooking London. Same nautical-inspired interiors as standard rooms but with the added bonus of actual outdoor space and city views.
KingPremier Terrace Suite
A generous step up from the Terrace Suite. Large private terrace for outdoor dining and stunning city views. Separate living room, bedroom, oversized soaking tub. The indoor-outdoor flow here is genuinely excellent.
KingSuperior King
Same signature walnut-cabin look as the Superior Queen. King bed, George Smith chair, Hendrik Kerstens photograph above the desk. These rooms can accommodate a king, queen or two double beds per the gallery. Watch for natural light: interior-facing rooms can be dark.
KingSuperior Queen
Entry-level room with the hotel's signature oak floors and dark walnut panelling. Expect the yacht-cabin look: tufted George Smith lounge chair, cantilevered desk, gold-framed Hendrik Kerstens photography. Compact — some rooms have limited natural light depending on aspect. Rainforest shower, Le Labo toiletries, Nespresso machine and minibar included.
QueenTerrace Suite
One of 2 Terrace Suites in the hotel. Private outdoor terrace with city views, separate living area, George Smith sofa. Suites here get gin trolley access, fresh flowers, oversized soaking tub and Le Labo toiletries as standard.

The hotel's BASEMENT nightclub is available for private events — film premieres, product launches and late-night gatherings. Has also hosted public events. Check with concierge for current programming.
A standalone event in its own right. Jason Atherton's kitchen puts out a proper Sunday roast in the spectacular Berners Tavern dining room, available 12pm–3:30pm every Sunday.
The award-winning Punch Room offers an evening cocktail experience modelled on 19th-century London private clubs. The 'Recipe Book' menu guides guests through punch-style cocktails with precise measurements and stories. First drink (signature Milk Punch) is complimentary. Reservations required Tue–Sat.
