The Manor House is a South African national monument, built in 1859 as the family home of British engineer Henry Fancourt White. Now a luxury 18-suite boutique hotel sitting inside the 613-hectare Fancourt estate, it operates as an adults-only (no under-16s) retreat completely separate in feel from the main Fancourt hotel. Think original wooden ceiling finishes, ornate chandeliers, butler-style service, and a private pool. The whole place runs on 18 guests maximum — so 'exclusive' isn't marketing speak here, it's just reality.

Named after the estate's original name before it was renamed Fancourt. These are the entry-level suites but there's nothing entry-level about them. Separate living area, walk-in dressing room, luxury bathroom with bath and shower, and high-end bath amenities throughout. Still 60m², which is generous. Understated by design — the idea is that guests decompress and reconnect rather than be impressed by the decor.

Oakland Suite
Reflects the overall ethos of the place well — grand but not overwrought. Each suite has its own separate living area, a lavishly designed bathroom, and a walk-in dressing room. Contemporary design does the heavy lifting, but the warmth of a country retreat keeps it from feeling cold or corporate. Good for two people who want real space and privacy without going all-out on the Presidential.

The biggest thing in the house. Two bedrooms, an open-plan lounge and dining room, en-suite bathrooms plus a separate guest bathroom. Original Norwegian-crafted wooden ceiling finishes sit alongside bespoke furniture and ornate chandeliers. A spacious private balcony leads off the dining area with views over the Manor House's manicured gardens. Sleeps up to four — meaning it works as a two-couple or family arrangement, as long as the kids are over 16.
