Why It Matters
One of the very few boutique NYC hotels with a subterranean saltwater lap pool, a full authentic Turkish hammam, and room options that run from standard hotel rooms all the way up to a three-bedroom duplex penthouse with a 1,500 sq ft terrace. The 1927 building retains its bones — including a striking birdcage-style bronze lobby entrance — while the interiors have been modernized thoughtfully. Every room comes with an in-room iPad.
A polished 21-story Art Deco building from 1927, sitting on a quiet corner of NoMad just north of Madison Square Park. This is the New York outpost of the Turkish Marmara Hotels & Residences group — and aside from a few Ottoman touches in the wellness center (a genuine Turkish hammam, Anatolian wines at the bar), you'd never guess it.
