Why It Matters
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the First National Center is one of the most dramatic adaptive reuse projects in the American Midwest. The Great Hall alone — with its gilded ceilings, stone columns, and all-day bar — is worth a visit even if you're not staying. There's no equivalent building or hotel experience in Oklahoma City.
The National occupies the first eight floors of the 32-story First National Center, a 1931 Art Deco skyscraper that was Oklahoma's first high-rise and once served as a major banking hub. After years sitting vacant following the oil bust, it underwent one of the largest restorations in the state's history, reopening in 2021 with 146 hotel rooms, five bars and restaurants, retail shops, and residential apartments. Original vault doors, painted ceilings, stone columns, and teller booths are all still here — you're essentially sleeping inside a landmark.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Complimentary fitness center accessible around the clock for hotel guests. Equipped with treadmills and weight machines.
Afternoon Tea service in The Great Hall, themed around the building's history. Guests report a butterbeer option and a selection of pastries in a visually dramatic setting. More Instagram-friendly than a traditional high tea, but a fun experience.
Entering the original bank vault doors into a speakeasy cocktail bar is an experience unique to this property. Worth doing as a standalone activity, not just a stop for drinks.
Multiple flexible event spaces including the Eagle Boardroom and Beacon Event Venue, plus a ballroom for weddings and larger events.
The First National Center building houses a collection of retail shops accessible from the hotel, ranging from a boot maker to designer boutiques, a barbershop, nail bar, and blowout bar. Guests can explore without leaving the building.
