Why It Matters
Listed on both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels. Every room and villa has a private pool — even the entry-level standard room. The main communal infinity pool has sweeping Aegean views and an all-day poolside bar. There's also a dramatically illuminated indoor pool at the spa. No private beach, no fine dining, but the quiet and the views make up for it.
The Nest Resort sits on a rocky cliff on Crete's northern coast, about 22 km from Heraklion airport, near Hersonissos town. The architecture is modern and cubist — wood, glass, and concrete buildings terraced into the hillside, all in an earthy palette of blonde wood, pale stone, and bright white. There are just 18 units total: nine guestrooms and nine private villas, every single one with its own private pool.
