The building has genuine character — brick bones, high ceilings, a retractable glass-roof atrium with a wooden fireplace — and the design leans into that heritage rather than papering over it. Originally opened as Sir Nikolai Hotel (part of Sir Hotels/Sircle Collection), it was acquired by Leonardo Hotels and relaunched as the brand's first German Limited Edition property in April 2024. Ninety-four rooms and suites, all individually styled with custom furniture, vintage rugs, local art and pillow-top beds.
