A local couple — a contractor and interior designer — took one of Cayucos's original 1920s motor-court buildings, moved it here in the fifties, and turned it into something genuinely special. The result: 20 rooms and bungalows painted in Sherwin-Williams Alabaster White, with Parachute linens, Tivoli radios, and carefully stocked minibars featuring local producers. It sits a block and a half from the Pacific, in a California beach town that still feels like 1975.

Back Bungalow
The group-friendly room. Two queen beds, a fireplace, a private front porch with sunset views over the water, plus proximity to a private lounge and fire pit. The only room that sleeps four. Good for families or a pair of couples.

Dog Friendly Rooms
Four rooms across the property are designated dog-friendly, accommodating one well-behaved dog under 50 lbs. A one-time pet fee of $125 (plus tax) applies. Dogs must stay leashed in common areas and cannot be left unattended. Must be booked by phone.
No. 14
A named room rather than a category — No. 14 has a queen bed and elevated views over the entire property. Good for someone who wants a sense of perch and a bit of privacy from the communal spaces.
QueenPrivate Bungalow
The top option. Freestanding bungalow with a king bed, private patio, Jotul gas fireplace, and day beds for lounging. Originally built in the 1920s and moved to this site in the fifties, then fully renovated. The shiplap framework and wood stoves give it a cozy cabin-by-the-sea feel.
KingPrivate Bungalow (ADA)
Accessible version of the Private Bungalow. Freestanding with king bed, private patio, gas fireplace, and day bed, designed to ADA standards.
KingStandard King
The entry-level room, though the motel insists — correctly — there is nothing standard about it. King bed, walk-in shower, Parachute linens and robes, Tivoli Bluetooth radio, curated minibar and fridge, and Fablerune bath products. Compact but thoughtfully finished.
KingStandard King (ADA)
Fully accessible version of the Standard King. Same king bed and full suite of amenities, designed to ADA standards. Must be booked by phone.
KingVaulted King
A step up from the Standard King with higher ceilings and a roomier floor plan. Same premium kit throughout — Parachute, Tivoli, local minibar — just more space to stretch out.
KingVaulted Queen
Queen bed with the added luxury of high, vaulted ceilings and a bathtub — making it one of the better value options at the motel. Good for a solo traveler or couple wanting a little more breathing room.

Morro Strand State Beach is a 2-minute walk from the property. The motel provides beach towels for guests. Cayucos State Beach is 0.5 miles away.
Linus cruiser bikes are available for guests to borrow at no extra charge — included in the stay. Good for getting around Cayucos's flat town center or heading to the beach.
The Cayucos Pier is a short walk away and open to fishing — a classic Central Coast pastime.
Multiple fire pits on the property with blankets provided. A genuine social hub — guests tend to end up here with bottles from the lobby boutique and stay longer than planned.
An on-site boutique in the lobby stocked with locally sourced goods — useful for gifts, wine, snacks, and Cayucos-specific finds.

Cayucos Surf Co. and Good Clean Fun are walking distance from the motel and rent boards and wetsuits. Staff can point you in the right direction. The pier break is beginner-friendly.
