The Pilgrm
Victorian craft-meets-modern minimalism. Bold blue carpets, reclaimed cast-iron radiators, 200-year-old parquet floors, hospital-salvaged brass lamps, and walls hung with original artwork. Artsy, independent, sustainability-driven, and neighbourhood-first.

Why It Matters
Independently owned and genuinely design-led at a price point that undercuts comparable boutique hotels in central London. Praised by Monocle, The Daily Telegraph, Condé Nast, and The Guardian. Known for a programme of rotating guest chef residencies and art exhibitions that make The Lounge a neighbourhood destination in its own right.
The Pilgrm — yes, one 'i', very much on purpose — is a family-owned, 73-room boutique hotel housed in a clutch of Victorian terraced buildings a one-minute walk from Paddington Station. It deliberately drops the standard-hotel playbook: no front desk, no robes, no minibar, no air conditioning. What you get instead is meticulous restoration (over 80% of materials repurposed), a rotating art collection, Monmouth coffee downstairs, a genuinely great cocktail list upstairs, and some of the most comfortable beds in this price bracket in London. Rooms are small — honestly, quite small — but everything in them is chosen with care: organic cotton mattresses, Egyptian cotton towels, Marshall Bluetooth speakers, and a gifted recycled water bottle you can refill downstairs.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The Lounge hosts a rolling programme of visiting chefs running evening dinner pop-ups. Recent residencies include Greek island concept Rho (Michelin-trained chef Marios Miliorellis, Wed–Sat until late August 2026), Moroccan Ladeed with Nargisse Benkabbou, Caribbean chef Keshia Sakarah, and Filipino concept LUTO. Advance booking recommended.
The Lounge and terrace are available for private hire — weddings, brand events, creative gatherings. Enquiries via the website.
The Pilgrm maintains a constantly evolving collection of original artwork throughout the building — corridors, landings, rooms. They champion emerging and underrepresented artists. Current (Spring 2026) exhibition features photography by Peter Anderson and Mary Dunkin. It's not a gallery you book — it's woven into the fabric of the building.
Guests can borrow a Temple Cycles bicycle free of charge during their stay to explore London. The hotel provides guidance on routes from Paddington.
Periodic wine events hosted in The Lounge with wine writer-in-residence Fiona Beckett. Past events include 'How to Taste Wine' and 'How to Drink Without Drinking'. Check the events calendar for upcoming dates.
