Why It Matters
A Michelin Key holder and one of the most celebrated Caribbean reopenings of 2024. Just 11 keys spread across 12 tropical acres means you'll rarely see other guests. The direct Atlantic pink sand beach is on point, the Fig Tree is the best restaurant on the island, and the backstory — celebrity haunt, jungle reclamation, seven-year restoration — is hard to match.
Founded in 1967 as a private escape for East Coast socialites, the Potlatch Club hosted royalty, musicians, and movie stars on one of Eleuthera's finest Atlantic pink sand beaches. Paul and Linda McCartney honeymooned here in 1969. It slid into disrepair in the 1980s — jungle literally swallowed the property — until owners Bruce Loshusan and Hans Febles discovered it on a beach walk in 2016, bought the 12 acres, and spent seven years restoring it. Reopened April 2024 with 11 suites, cottages, and villas, and a Michelin Key in 2025.
