The spa alone — 11 treatment rooms across an entire floor — makes it a standout in the city. Tablet Hotels and Condé Nast Traveler Gold List recognition from 2007–2014 cemented its reputation.
This is not your typical Ritz-Carlton. No gilded ceilings or European grandeur here. What you get instead is a contemporary glass and chrome tower on Beijing's properly-named Financial Street, with an interior built around Feng Shui principles: warm wood tones, water features, and gold accents throughout. The 252 rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, with 37-inch LCD screens in the bedroom and 15-inch screens in the marble bathrooms, plus electronic touch panels that control lighting, curtains, and climate. But some regulars note the rooms feel dated compared to newer luxury properties. The service is consistently standout, the 1,500-square-meter spa occupies an entire floor, and you're about 10 minutes by car from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
