The Roxy Hotel New York
Downtown creative cool. Mid-century modern with Art Deco accents, exposed brick, vintage marquee signage, and a soundtrack that runs from jazz piano to late-night DJs. More music venue than hotel.
Book the Nite Owl King if budget matters and you're a night owl — it sits above the club, but at $299/night it's among the best value rates for a boutique hotel in Manhattan
Why It Matters
One of the few hotels in NYC where the on-site venues — particularly The Django jazz club and Roxy Cinema — are legitimate destinations for locals, not just amenities for guests. The hotel was originally the Tribeca Grand (opened 2000), reimagined by the Soho Grand's owners in 2015.
The Roxy sits on a cobblestone corner right on the SoHo/Tribeca border — the former Tribeca Grand, reinvented in 2015 with a new name and a lot more personality. It's 201 rooms of mid-century modern meets Art Deco, with a subterranean jazz club, an arthouse cinema, an oyster bar, and a lobby that locals actually want to hang out in. This is a hotel built around entertainment first, sleep second.
