Singular Patagonia
Industrial heritage meets wilderness luxury. Polished concrete ceilings, straight-from-the-factory copper lights, earthy tones, floor-to-ceiling glass — it looks and feels like somewhere an architect took a genuinely difficult brief and knocked it out of the park.
Book the restaurant in advance — it is open to external visitors and fills up, especially for dinner.
Why It Matters
A Chilean National Monument that functions as a fully operational luxury hotel and museum simultaneously. Part of Leading Hotels of the World. LEED-certified. Has two private nature reserves covering 37,000 acres. The only hotel in the immediate area with direct fjord frontage and a private boat for glacier excursions.
A converted 1915 cold storage plant on the shores of the Señoret Channel, five minutes outside Puerto Natales. The building was declared a National Monument in 1996, and the hotel opened in 2011 without stripping it of character — antique industrial machinery still stands in the transit corridors, and a guided museum tour is open to the public daily. Rooms sit in a new russet-red wing built over the old meat-hanging area, and every one of the 57 rooms faces the Fjord of Last Hope Sound through a six-meter-wide picture window.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Bicycle rental and guided cycling routes around the Señoret Channel and fjord. Bikes available to rent on site.
The hotel has its own private boat for navigating to the Serrano Glacier. Shared service is included in the Pioneers package; private service is available at additional cost. One of the most distinctive offerings given the hotel's direct fjord access.
Guided fly fishing excursion in the Patagonian rivers and lakes around Puerto Natales. Available at additional cost and not included in the Pioneers package.
Full-day rides with huasos (Chilean cowboys) on a traditional Patagonian estancia. A genuinely local experience that goes well beyond a trail ride.
Hotel-owned kayaks available for guided trips on the fjord. Grey River kayaking is a noted option (not included in the Pioneers all-in package, available at additional cost).
A one-hour guided walk through the original 1915 Frigorífico Bories cold storage plant. Original industrial machinery — much of it made in the UK — is still in place. Covers the history of the Sociedad Explotadora Tierra del Fuego and the role the plant played in Chilean-Argentinean Patagonia. Open to the public daily.
Guided wildlife photosafari in the Patagonian landscape, focused on puma sightings and local fauna. Not included in the standard all-in packages — available at additional cost.
Guided day trips to Torres del Paine National Park, about one hour from the hotel. The hotel's bilingual guide team runs a full menu of excursion options, selectable upon arrival. Full-day and half-day formats available.
